The BMX season is near.
Carson City BMX will be having an Open House on the weekend of April 5th and 6th, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. There is no racing on these days, but the track will be open for bikes. This will be a great time to bring the kids (boys and girls) down to the track for some introductory BMX riding.
My family gave it a try last year and had a blast. It’s a great way to get some fun riding in with your kids. Even if you decide not to race, you can just show up for practice and ride the track.
If you need to get geared up for the BMX season, go see Dan at the Bicycle Authority. The Bicycle Authority has a wide selection of BMX race bikes, parts, and all the safety gear. Speaking of safety gear, you’ll want to bring a helmet, gloves, long pants, and a long sleeve jersey to the track if you want to ride.
Racing begins Sunday, April 13th.

thanks for the props. don’t forget bmx builds great bike handling skills. just last week paul bassagotia was in the shop. i was preping his bikes for the season. he goes to europe soon. i can remember when he was a little guy riding at the track. then four years ago i saw him win crank works (largest slope style mountain bike event) on tv. paul won that event 2yrs and the 3rd year it was won by cam zink another local kid that rode at the carson track. if you don’t know paul or cam google their names they both have web sites. paul rides for kona and cam rides for felt. hope to see you at the track.
That’s a great picture!
Having sat up there at that gate myself, I get the feeling of nervous anticipation when looking at that picture!
Make sure to put some pictures of yourself up doing some rad BMX moves.
jeff, is that bike a micro-mini or a mini?
It’s a mini I believe. He still has plenty of growing room on the bike.
